Traffic Engineering for RBR 2026 Accommodates Church Congregation
The Traffic Unit of Pekanbaru Police, Riau Regional Police, has stated that traffic management during the Riau Bhayangkara Run 2026 will still accommodate congregants attending services at GPIB Immanuel on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman. Traffic on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman itself will not be closed entirely.
“For Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, we are not closing it completely; the left side can still be used by cars and motorcycles,” said the Head of the Pekanbaru Police Traffic Unit, Police Commissioner Satrio, on Saturday (18/7/2026).
Satrio said the traffic management arrangements have accommodated the needs of congregants attending services at GPIB Immanuel. The police have also coordinated with the church.
“According to the information we received from the church, services at GPIB Immanuel begin at 10.00 WIB. We will open traffic on the left lane,” he said.
Dharma Wanita Building Traffic Information
The traffic management during RBR 2026 also accommodates residents attending a wedding at the Dharma Wanita building on Jalan Diponegoro. For information, Jalan Diponegoro will be closed during RBR 2026.
Satrio said that to accommodate residents attending the wedding at the building, the police have prepared traffic arrangements. Members of the public heading to the Dharma Wanita building will be diverted via Jalan Sumatera and then towards Jalan Rupat.
Satrio urged the public to follow the directions of officers on the ground. He also asked for the public’s support so that the Riau Bhayangkara Run 2026 runs successfully and delivers a positive impact on the economy of Riau Province, particularly Pekanbaru.

The following traffic diversion routes have been prepared:
Traffic from the north (Rumbai Pesisir) heading towards Sudirman (airport) can use Jalan Sekolah - Jalan Yos Sudarso - Jalan Riau - Jalan Soekarno-Hatta or Jalan Ahmad Yani
Traffic from the west (Jalan Juanda) heading east can use Jalan Juanda - U-turn under the Siak IV Bridge - Jalan Sudirman - Jalan Tanjung Datuk or Jalan Setia Budi
Traffic from the west (Jalan Juanda) heading to the airport can use Jalan Riau - Jalan Soekarno-Hatta - Jalan Arifin Achmad
Traffic from the east (Jalan Setia Budi) heading south (airport) can use Jalan Sultan Syarif Kasim - Jalan Hang Tuah - Jalan Diponegoro - Jalan Pattimura - Jalan Sudirman (left lane only)
Traffic from the south (Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution) heading north can use the airport road, entering Jalan Rawa Indah - Jalan Arifin Achmad - Jalan Soekarno-Hatta
Traffic from the west (Jalan Tuanku Tambusai) heading north can use Jalan KH Ahmad Dahlan - Jalan Pepaya - Jalan A Yani
Traffic from the west (Jalan Tuanku Tambusai) heading south (airport) can use the Tuanku Tambusai traffic light - turn right onto Jalan Sudirman (left lane only)
Traffic from the west (Arifin Achmad) heading south can make a U-turn at the MNC junction - Jalan Arifin Achmad westbound - Jalan Rawa Indah
Traffic from the east (Imam Munandar) heading north can enter via the underpass of the Imam Munandar flyover and turn right (using only the far-left lane) - at the Tuanku Tambusai flyover, turn towards Tuanku Tambusai
Traffic from the east (Imam Munandar) heading south (airport) can use Jalan Sudirman (left lane only).
The Riau Bhayangkara Run 2026 will be held on Sunday, 19 July 2026, with the start and finish lines in front of the Riau Regional Police Headquarters on Jalan Pattimura, Pekanbaru. The flag-off for the 21K category begins at 05.30 WIB.
