Traffic Engineering for RBR 2026 Accommodates Church Congregation

The Traffic Unit of the Pekanbaru City Police, Riau Regional Police, has announced that traffic engineering for the Riau Bhayangkara Run 2026 will continue to accommodate worshippers attending services at GPIB Immanuel Church on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman. Traffic on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman will not be fully closed. “For Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, we are not closing it completely; the left side can still be used by cars and motorcycles,” said Pekanbaru Police Traffic Chief, Kompol Satrio, on Saturday (18/7/2026). Satrio stated that the traffic management plan has accommodated the needs of the congregation worshipping at GPIB Immanuel. His party has also coordinated with GPIB Immanuel. “The information we received from the church is that the service at GPIB Immanuel begins at 10:00 WIB. We will open the left lane for traffic,” he said. The traffic engineering during the RBR 2026 event also accommodates residents who will be getting married at the Dharma Wanita building on Jalan Diponegoro. For information, Jalan Diponegoro is closed during the RBR 2026. Satrio said that to accommodate residents holding weddings at the building, his party has prepared a traffic diversion. People heading to the Dharma Wanita Building will be routed via Jalan Sumatera and then directed to Jalan Rupat. Satrio appealed to the public to follow the directions of officers in the field. He also requested public support so that the Riau Bhayangkara Run 2026 runs successfully and provides a positive impact on the economy of Riau Province, especially Pekanbaru City. The police apologised for any disruption to travel during the Riau Bhayangkara Run. The prepared traffic diversion routes are as follows: Traffic from the north (Rumbai Pesisir) towards Sudirman (airport) can proceed via Jl Sekolah - Jl Yos Sudarso - Jl Riau - Jl Soekarno-Hatta or to Jl Ahmad Yani. Traffic from the west (Jl Juanda) heading east can proceed via Jl Juanda - U-turn under Siak IV Bridge - Jl Sudirman - Jl Tanjung Datuk or to Jl Setia Budi. Traffic from the west (Jl Juanda) heading to the airport can proceed via Jl Riau - Jl Soekarno-Hatta - Jl Arifin Achmad. Traffic from the east (Jl Setia Budi) heading south (airport) can proceed via Jl Sultan Syarif Kasim - Jl Hang Tuah - Jl Diponegoro - Jl Pattimura - Jl Sudirman (left lane only). Traffic from the south (Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution) heading north can proceed via the airport road, entering Jl Rawa Indah - Jl Arifin Achmad - Jl Soekarno-Hatta. Traffic from the west (Jl Tuanku Tambusai) heading north can proceed via Jl KH Ahmad Dahlan - Jl Pepaya - Jl A Yani. Traffic from the west (Jl Tuanku Tambusai) heading south (airport) can proceed via the Tuanku Tambusai traffic light - turn right onto Jl Sudirman (left lane only). Traffic from the west (Arifin Achmad) heading south must turn around at the MNC U-turn - Jl Arifin Achmad westbound - Jl Rawa Indah. Traffic from the east (Imam Munandar) heading north can enter via the Imam Munandar underpass and turn right (using the leftmost lane only) - upon reaching the Tuanku Tambusai flyover, turn onto Tuanku Tambusai. Traffic from the east (Imam Munandar) heading south (airport) can proceed via Jl Sudirman (left lane only). The Riau Bhayangkara Run 2026 will be held on Sunday, 19 July 2026, with the start and finish line in front of the Riau Regional Police Headquarters on Jalan Pattimura, Pekanbaru City.
