The Kupang City Police Resort in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) has enforced traffic engineering measures during the working visit of Vice President (Wapres) Gibran Rakabuming Raka to Kupang City on Monday (6/4/2026).

Head of Traffic Police at Kupang City Police Resort, AKP Ade Triken Deayomi, explained that the traffic engineering will be applied at Tirosa Roundabout, the starting point of the Easter Procession. Therefore, drivers heading towards that location will be redirected back via Taebenu Road, Naimata Ward, Maulafa Subdistrict, Kupang City.

Conversely, those coming from Frans Seda Road will be directed to Sam Ratulangi Road and Timor Raya Road. “Around Tirosa Roundabout, we have prepared traffic engineering. We hope the public can understand and maintain traffic discipline,” Triken clarified.

Meanwhile, Kupang City Police Chief, Kombes Djoko Lestari, added that they have attended the regional coordination meeting (rakorwil) and security coordination meeting (rakorpam) at the Fernandes Hall of the NTT Governor’s Office, regarding the visit by the son of Indonesia’s 7th President Joko Widodo.

According to him, the meeting discussed preparations for welcoming Gibran’s arrival to carry out several agendas, including attending the Easter Procession at Tirosa Roundabout and visiting NTT Mart.

“The meeting also detailed discussions on route security, traffic arrangements, event site readiness, and other technical support to facilitate the Vice President’s activities in Kupang City and Kupang Regency,” Djoko explained.

Kupang City Police Resort, Djoko stated, together with the military, local government, and all stakeholders, will fully synergise to ensure VVIP security.

“Kupang City Police Resort, along with its ranks, will carry out maximum security, both on the routes traversed and at every activity point. We will also optimise traffic arrangements so that the entire series of activities runs safely, smoothly, and orderly,” Djoko concluded.
