Traffic Engineering and Parking Locations for Jakarta Anniversary Event at Bundaran HI
The peak celebration of the 499th Anniversary of DKI Jakarta will be held at the Hotel Indonesia (HI) Roundabout in Central Jakarta on Saturday (27/6). The DKI Jakarta Provincial Transportation Agency (Dishub) has prepared situational and phased traffic management to support the peak night celebration. The event will take place from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Western Indonesia Time in the Bundaran Hotel Indonesia area, Central Jakarta.
Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Transportation Agency, Budi Awaluddin, stated that the traffic arrangements are designed to ensure the celebration runs smoothly while maintaining public mobility around the event site. ‘We have prepared situational and phased traffic management, along with alternative routes, parking areas, and public transport support. To support the smooth running of the event and public mobility, Dishub DKI Jakarta is also deploying 475 personnel in the field who will be tasked with traffic management, security, and public service during the activity,’ Budi said in an official statement on Thursday (25/6).
Traffic management will be implemented situationally and in phases on several road sections intersecting with the event location from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. The roads affected by the traffic engineering during the peak Jakarta Anniversary celebration are: Jalan Jenderal Sudirman (HI Roundabout to Dukuh Atas segment), Jalan M.H. Thamrin, Jalan M. Mashabi, Jalan Sutan Syahrir (Jalan Agus Salim to HI Roundabout segment), Jalan Imam Bonjol (Jalan Agus Salim to HI Roundabout segment), Jalan Kotabumi, Jalan Teluk Betung, and Jalan Sumenep. Meanwhile, traffic flow on Jalan Kebon Sirih and Jalan KH Wahid Hasyim from west to east and vice versa will remain normal and passable.
To anticipate congestion around the event site, the public is advised to adjust their travel times and routes and to use alternative routes. Additionally, there are 21 designated parking areas around the event location. Attendees are urged not to park vehicles on the road and to use the provided parking facilities. The parking locations for the peak Jakarta Anniversary celebration include: IRTI Monas Parking Lot, Lemhannas, the National Library, Gedung Telkom STO Gambir, the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, Menara Dana Reksa, Gedung Indosat, the Ministry of Tourism, Wisma Mandiri, TPE Sabang, Djakarta Theater, Gedung Sarinah, Plaza Indonesia, Grand Indonesia, Wisma Nusantara, Mandarin Oriental Hotel, The City Tower, Taman Menteng, Gedung BNI 46, Wisma 46 Outdoor, and Gedung Wisma 46. Overall, the provided parking capacity can accommodate 12,295 cars, 8,186 motorcycles, and 97 buses. Budi urged the public to utilise the official parking areas that have been prepared and not to park vehicles on the road to ensure traffic flow around the event site is maintained.
