Traffic Diverted in Cikini, Central Jakarta, Following Building Fire

A fire at a building in Cikini, Central Jakarta, has led to the diversion of traffic heading towards the area. Vehicles are being redirected to Jalan Cut Meutia.

“Due to a fire around Jalan Cikini Raya (Central Cikini Ruko), Cikini Village, Menteng District, Central Jakarta, traffic heading towards Cikini is being diverted to Cut Meutia,” the Metro Jaya Regional Police wrote on its X account, Wednesday (5/8/2026).

Information from the Central Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency command centre indicates that firefighting operations are still underway. Thick black smoke was seen billowing from the location.

“Object is a building. Situation: firefighting process (red),” the agency stated.

The fire report was received at 14:45 WIB. Firefighters began suppression operations at 14:52 WIB.

The fire department deployed 70 personnel with 18 fire engine units. The cause of the fire is not yet known.

“Deployment of units: 18 units, 70 personnel,” wrote the Fire and Rescue Sub-agency.
