The Jakarta Metropolitan Police are diverting traffic today, Friday (14/8/2026). The diversion is being carried out due to the State Address of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, in the context of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia at the DPR/MPR/DPD Building, Senayan, Central Jakarta.

“Traffic around the DPR/MPR RI building is predicted to be congested. The traffic diversion is situational. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes, manage travel times, and follow the instructions of officers on the ground,” wrote the Instagram account of TMC Polda Metro Jaya.

“Prioritise safety when driving, always follow the instructions and directions of officers on the ground for our collective security and smooth flow, and comply with applicable regulations.”

To support the smooth running of the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, traffic diversions will be implemented on a number of roads around Monas at 07.00. The diversions are as follows:

  • Traffic from Jl. Medan Merdeka Timur is diverted towards Jl. Lapangan Banteng Barat.

  • Traffic from Jl. Harmoni towards Tomang is directed straight towards Jl. Juanda.

  • Traffic on Jl. Veteran III from the direction of Pasar Baru heading towards Jl. Medan Merdeka Utara is directed straight towards Harmoni.

“Specifically, the old Pertamina road to Jalan Merdeka Utara is closed during the flag-raising ceremony,” wrote TMC Polda Metro Jaya.

“Motorists are advised to adjust their travel routes and follow the directions of officers on the ground.”
