Traffic disrupted as Bailey Bridge Garoga 1 undergoes repairs
South Tapanuli, North Sumatra (ANTARA) — A number of military personnel and workers from Wika are currently repairing Bailey Bridge 1 Garoga, located on the border of Central Tapanuli and South Tapanuli in North Sumatra, causing traffic disruption at the site.
Observations at the location on Tuesday afternoon showed military personnel and Wika workers replacing the wooden planks used as decking on the temporary bridge.
The repairs were carried out after several sections of Bailey Bridge Garoga 1 sustained damage and developed holes as a result of hydrometeorological disasters, posing a danger to vehicles attempting to cross the route on the Trans-Sumatra highway.
At present, both two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles from both directions are waiting for the repairs to be completed, resulting in traffic congestion in the area.
