Traffic Corps Prepares Strategy for Return Flow
The Traffic Corps (Korlantas) is preparing a number of strategies to address the return flow for Eid al-Fitr 1447 H. Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) of the Indonesian National Police, Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho, stated that his side has estimated the percentage distribution of vehicles during the return flow, approximately 30 to 35 percent heading to West Java. “Well, the solution for those from West Java, there’s already Japek 2 South, which helps a lot. Including the one in Bocimi,” said Agus at the Command Centre Post KM 29 Cikampek Toll, Saturday (21/3), quoted from the official Korlantas website. Regarding the flow from Trans Java, Agus estimated the vehicle distribution would reach around 66 percent. “That means, if the return flow is on the 24th (March), on the 23rd (March) we will already manage traffic counting,” he said. “If necessary, on the 23rd (March) we will implement local one-way in the first phase segment. Reversed, from (KM) 414 to (KM) 70. Possibly we will divide it into two phases. Possibly up to Pejagan, 263,” he continued. Agus stated that if up to Pejagan there is still an increase in vehicles, his side will reopen the one-way up to kilometre 70. “Up to 70 because it narrows, meets at 70, and widens later after 36 towards Jakarta, we will prepare contraflow as well. Contraflow from kilometre 70 to possibly 55 or possibly to 36. We will see if the flow is high or not,” he explained. Regarding local return trips, Kakorlantas said the peak density of local returnees is predicted to occur on Sunday (22/3) or H+1 Lebaran 2026. He said the police have anticipated local returnees in the Solo Raya, Semarang Raya, Malang Raya areas, including Jabodetabek and Bali, one of which is by preparing security posts, service posts, and integrated posts. “In fact, tomorrow there will be dense agglomeration. So, local return trips from Solo to Semarang, Semarang to Solo, from Bogor to Bekasi, we anticipate that tomorrow,” said Kakorlantas.
