Traffic Corps Chief Urges Road Users to Obey Rules and Prioritise Safety

Head of the Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the Indonesian National Police, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, has urged all road users to prioritise safety during travel, particularly on toll roads experiencing increased vehicle volume.

‘Road users should exercise caution, especially on toll roads, with heavy vehicles using the left lane,’ Agus said in Gadog, Bogor, on Monday, 1 June 2026.

To support road safety and traffic flow, Korlantas Polri continues to permit the use of rotators and sirens on toll road patrol vehicles, aiding officers in monitoring traffic.

‘I reiterate that the use of rotators and sirens will continue, specifically for toll road patrols. This allows patrol vehicles from the Road Patrol (PJR) units to advise traffic during peak hours,’ Agus stated.

Agus confirmed that accident rates during peak travel periods remain controlled with no major incidents.

‘Accident incidents are currently under control with no significant occurrences. I also extend appreciation to the Road Patrol (PJR) and West Java units for their consistent presence at locations such as Gadog, especially during weekends and holidays when traffic is heavy,’ he added.

Finally, Agus emphasised that traffic police remain on duty around the clock to anticipate potential disruptions.

‘There are no weekends or holidays for traffic police; they are always present to address potential issues,’ he said.
