Traffic Corps Chief Urges Preparations for Zero ODOL Implementation by 2027, Emphasising Collaboration

The Head of the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas), Inspector General Wibowo, has requested traffic units to maturely prepare for the implementation of the Zero Over Dimension Over Load (ODOL) policy by 2027. He emphasised the importance of synergy and collaboration with all stakeholders.

Inspector General Wibowo made these remarks while opening the Analysis and Evaluation (Anev) of Road Traffic, Safety, and Order (Kamseltibcarlantas), attended by Traffic Directors from regional police departments across Indonesia at the Madellu Hall of the National Police Traffic Corps, Jakarta, on Thursday (3/9/2026).

Inspector General Wibowo requested that his personnel map out potential field issues before the policy is enforced. This step is intended to anticipate obstacles from the outset to ensure that traffic flow and public mobility are not disrupted.

“Prepare well, re-check the readiness of infrastructure and facilities, the routes, and inventory the problems that may arise during these activities,” he stated.

In addition to the readiness of infrastructure and the routes to be traversed by freight vehicles, Inspector General Wibio also stressed the importance of coordination and collaboration with all relevant stakeholders.

According to him, traffic issues related to the movement of freight vehicles cannot be handled by the National Police alone, thus requiring inter-agency synergy.

“Minimise [issues] and coordinate with stakeholders because I am certain we will not be able to resolve our problems on our own,” he asserted.

Inspector General Wibowo hopes that cross-sectoral readiness and coordination can be carried out optimally. This is to ensure that the implementation of Zero ODOL in 2027 can achieve its objectives without hindering traffic flow and public mobility.
