Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho has revealed strategies for traffic management during the 2026 Lebaran return flow. “The return flow also has specific strategies. In particular, the use of functional toll roads. This is very strategic,” he said when met at the Command Centre Post at KM 29 of the Cikampek Toll Road, West Java, on Thursday. He gave an example that, during the return flow, the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) II South Toll Road up to Delta Mas and Setu will be used to ease vehicle density. “So, vehicles from West Java, specifically private vehicles or non-large vehicles, will go through the functional toll road. This is very good so that there are not many crossings at KM 66,” he said. For information, KM 66 is the meeting point between traffic flow from the Trans Java Toll Road and the Cikampek–Purwakarta–Padalarang (Cipularang) Toll Road traffic towards Jakarta. Another strategy is the use of the Bogor-Ciawi-Sukabumi (Bocimi) Functional Toll from Parungkuda to Karangtengah. Nevertheless, he said that his side will coordinate with Jasa Marga in determining the steps to be used to anticipate return flow traffic. Previously, the West Java Police (Polda Jabar) ensured that the Jakarta-Cikampek II South Toll Road is ready to be opened functionally for the 2026 Lebaran mudik and return flow as an effort to ease vehicle density. The Director of Traffic of Polda Jabar, Senior Commissioner of Police Raydian Kokrosono, said that the route is one of the sections prepared after checks were carried out together with the Head of the National Police Traffic Corps and the West Java Police Chief. According to him, the opening of that route is expected to be able to split the vehicle flow from Central Java towards Jakarta so that density on the main route can be reduced. Besides Japek II South, the Bocimi Toll Section 3 route spanning about 6 kilometres connecting Parungkuda to Karangtengah also has the potential to be opened functionally.
