Traffic Corps Chief Ensures Personnel on High Alert During Long Weekend: Serving the Public Sincerely
In accordance with the directives of National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, we are present among the public, serving the people with full sincerity,” stated Inspector General Agus in Jakarta on Wednesday (13/5/2026). “For us, duty is an honour that must be carried out with high dedication to guarantee public safety and ensure smooth and orderly traffic,” he added. The Traffic Corps Chief has requested all traffic police personnel to be present in the field to provide maximum security and service to the public. This includes toll roads, arterial roads, ports-terminals and airports, places of worship, and tourist sites such as the Puncak area in Bogor, West Java, which is usually crowded with tourists. In securing this long holiday, Inspector General Agus continued, the National Police Traffic Corps is prioritising the ‘Polantas Menyapa dan Melayani’ programme. In addition to ensuring smooth traffic flow, he has instructed traffic police to serve the public, for example, by providing direct assistance to motorists experiencing difficulties on the journey. “We are here to serve. Through the Polantas Menyapa dan Melayani programme, we will be at crucial points to help with smoothness, educate, and ensure the public feels safe, comfortable, and secure during their travels until they return,” he emphasised. Inspector General Agus added that the National Police Traffic Corps will maximise all digital infrastructure, including ETLE and monitoring from the Command Centre, to carry out dynamic traffic engineering if significant congestion occurs. “Our personnel are on standby 24 hours. We will continue to monitor traffic movement in real-time. We urge the public to remain disciplined and follow the instructions of officers in the field,” he concluded.
