Traffic Corps Chief Directly Reprimands Driver of Three-Axle Truck for Violating Operational Restrictions
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Head of the National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas), Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho, directly reprimanded a driver of a three-axle truck who violated the operational restriction rules for goods transport during the 2026 Eid period. While directly inspecting the Pejagan Toll Gate in Brebes, Central Java, on Thursday, Agus approached a three-axle truck unit that had been stopped by officers. He directly reprimanded the driver and asked several questions. “Who instructed you, the company or yourself?” Agus asked. “The company, sir,” the driver replied. The driver also admitted that he was transporting goods from a factory. Agus then reminded the truck driver not to pass through the toll road again during the goods transport operational restriction period. “Alright, just turn back. Later the public will be angry that you’re going through the toll road,” he said. The operational restriction on goods transport during the Eid Transport period is enforced continuously from 13 March 2026 at 12:00 local time until 29 March 2026 at 24:00 local time,” said the Director General of Land Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation, Aan Suhanan. The regulation applies to both toll roads and arterial roads. The restriction on goods transport vehicles applies to goods vehicles with three or more axles, goods vehicles with trailers, articulated vehicles, as well as goods vehicles carrying mining products, mining results, and building materials. However, goods distribution can still be carried out with two-axle vehicles, except for mining products such as soil, sand, stone, mining results, and building materials like iron, cement, and wood. Goods transport vehicles exempted from the restriction or that can still operate with three or more axles include vehicles carrying fuel/LPG, livestock, fertiliser, and natural disaster aid. In addition, basic necessities goods with the condition that the vehicle used does not exceed the load and does not exceed the dimensions indicated by a contract/agreement document between the goods owner and the transport operator.
