The event was held at the UNJ Sports Hall in East Jakarta on Thursday (7/5/2026). Attendees included several media executives, representatives from ride-hailing services, and various community organisations.

In his speech, Irjen Agus stated that one indicator of the success of Operation Ketupat is when the media can convey information about mudik and return traffic accurately. He also conveyed a message from the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, to maintain close ties with the media.

“One of the key indicators of success is, clearly, Operation Ketupat succeeded because we are very close with the media, and the media can convey information as clearly as possible,” said Irjen Agus.

Irjen Agus also explained another indicator of success during the implementation of Operation Ketupat 2026, which is when the mudik traffic flow can be handled well despite the highest number of vehicles passing through in history. The available information can be well conveyed by the media.

“Information from the police, information from stakeholders can be clearly conveyed by journalists because journalists are always with us in the field,” he said.

Irjen Agus continued that other indicators of success include traffic safety and smoothness. He mentioned that the fatality rate in Operation Ketupat 2026 experienced a decline.

“We managed to reduce the fatality rate of deaths by 31.39 percent. This is an extraordinary figure. We also reduced the number of accident incidents by 5.31 percent. This is part of the indicators,” he stated.
