Traffic congestion in Bintaro
Traffic congestion in Bintaro
From Bisnis Indonesia
Under the assumption that the toll road would help ease access from Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) to Jakarta through Bintaro, as part of the integrated Jakarta Outer Ring Road, the real estate developer opened up the BSD-Bintaro toll road without taking into account the road load and the carrying capacity of the Bintaro area and parts of South Jakarta (foreign ministry housing compound, Veteran, Tanah Kusir and the surrounding areas).
As a result, thousands of vehicles from Serpong, BSD, Pamulang and the surrounding areas pass through Bintaro on their way to Jakarta, a situation very disturbing to Bintaro residents.
If this BSD-Bintaro toll road had been opened together with the completion of the W2 (Ulujami-Veteran-Pondok Pinang) section of the Jakarta Outer Ring Road, things would be different. There would be less load as part of the traffic would be transferred to the toll road.
It is time to calculate the losses caused by this stupid planning. What is the cost of the two hours wasted just to get to Jakarta, plus the consequent stress?
The state-owned company in charge of road construction and maintenance, Jasa Marga, previously very enthusiastic to take over this Jakarta Outer Ring Road project, should be more responsive to this problem. They should not just keep telling the public that they have spent a lot of money to clear the land for this project because the cost of land clearing is included in the project valuation.
Or, perhaps, the president director of Jasa Marga would like to better understand this problem and suffer from stress every day along with Bintaro residents and thereafter suffer a stroke, too?
