Traffic Congestion Hotspots During Cianjur Homecoming 2026 & Jonggol Alternative Routes

The Cianjur Regional Police Traffic Unit (Satlantas) has begun mapping traffic congestion hotspots ahead of the 2026 Lebaran homecoming period. This early precautionary measure is being undertaken to ensure smooth operations during Operasi Ketupat Lodaya 2026, particularly on main connector routes to Bandung, Sukabumi, and Bogor.

Cianjur Police Chief AKBP Akhmad Alexander Yurikho Hadi, through Traffic Chief AKP Aang Andi Suhandi, confirmed that numerous trouble spots have been identified at boundary areas. These locations are predicted to become vehicle congestion points due to overflow market activity and level crossing operations.

To address potential congestion, the Satlantas Polres Cianjur has established four special dispersal teams. These mobile units will be positioned at critical points to provide rapid intervention should vehicle stagnation occur.

Motorists are urged to ensure their vehicles are in prime physical condition before traversing the uphill routes in the Gekbrong and Puncak areas.

For homebound travellers from Jakarta heading to Bandung or vice versa who wish to avoid congestion on the main Puncak route, police have prepared alternative routes.

Traffic Chief AKP Aang Andi Suhandi highlighted road infrastructure conditions. Field inspections revealed several road sections requiring repair. The police have coordinated with the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, West Java Provincial Government, and Cianjur Public Works Office to accelerate repair processes before the homecoming period commences.

Motorists are urged to monitor the latest information regarding one-way or contraflow schemes that may be implemented situationally, particularly on the Puncak route, which serves as both a tourist destination and a main homecoming corridor.
