Traffic congestion hits Lenteng Agung Raya following road collapse

Traffic congestion has occurred on Lenteng Agung Raya Road in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, following a road collapse near the TransJakarta bus stop at SMAN 109 Jakarta. Since 9 am, traffic has been crawling from Lontar Road towards Lenteng Agung Raya towards Depok or the University of Indonesia (UI). Some motorcyclists have been overtaking through small gaps between cars to reach their destinations quickly. TransJakarta buses are also moving slowly until reaching the bus stop. Some passengers have chosen to alight at Lenteng Agung Station to avoid the congestion. ‘The route only goes up to Wijaya Kusuma, then turns back towards Pancasila University,’ said resident Muhammad Arif. The congestion coincided with the second day after Eid al-Adha celebrations, which is typically a busy period for road users. ‘Some residents took to the opposite lane, prompting a call to South Jakarta Fire Department, followed by collaborative efforts with Bina Marga and other locals,’ said volunteer Rafli Zulkarnaen, also known as Ijoel. The D21 route from Lebak Bulus to UI Depok has been shortened to Lebak Bulus to Wijaya Kusuma Bus Stop due to the road collapse near SMAN 109 Bus Stop. ‘Currently not serving bus stops from SMAN 38 to the University of Indonesia,’ according to Transjakarta’s X account. Additionally, the 4B route from Manggarai Station to the University of Indonesia has been shortened to Manggarai Station to Wijaya Kusuma Bus Stop, and is currently not serving passengers from SMAN 38 Bus Stop to the University of Indonesia.
