National Police Traffic Corps Chief Irjen Agus Suryonugroho stated that 15% of vehicles have yet to return to Jakarta during the 2026 Eid return flow. There is a possibility of no significant vehicle surge on Sunday. “If calculated by percentage, this morning it was still 22%, tonight it is likely to drop to 15%. This is part of West Java and Trans-Java; tomorrow there probably won’t be too high a surge, but we are still preparing in case of a surge from the east,” said Irjen Agus at the rest area at km 62 of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road on Saturday (28/3/2026). The national one-way implementation scheme remains optional depending on the volume of vehicles passing through. Traffic conditions on the Kalikangkung toll gate itself are still monitored as smooth, so the one-way implementation is still from km 263 to km 70 of the Trans-Java toll road. “The parameter from the Kalikangkung toll gate is not too high. Therefore, the local stage two one-way intervention from kilometre 263 to 70 remains in place; we are not pulling it eastward,” he said. Nevertheless, Irjen Agus mentioned that if the national one-way scheme needs to be implemented again, his side is ready. On the other hand, functional routes such as the Tol Japek II South and the Tol Bocimi Parung Kuda-Karang Tengah section are also being optimised to break up the density of the return flow from West Java to the capital. “Therefore, there is a possibility of a fairly high surge later, and we are ready to carry out stage three one-way, which we have prepared—where necessary, we will extend it to 414 based on the traffic we manage,” he explained.
