The Head of the National Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) of the Indonesian National Police, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, assessed that the implementation of security and service for the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming traffic generally proceeded safely, orderly, smoothly, and under control. This is believed to be the result of synergy among all involved stakeholders, as well as the comprehensive application of Kamseltibcarlantas strategies across all homecoming routes, including toll roads, arterial roads, and ferry ports. Based on a written statement, Inspector General Agus explained that the implementation of traffic engineering such as contraflow, one-way, odd-even, route opening and closing, as well as vehicle flow management to ports through buffer zone and delay systems, proved effective in alleviating vehicle density. In terms of traffic smoothness, he stated that traffic flow on the Trans-Java toll route, the North Coast route, the Southern route, and access to ferry ports was generally well managed. He also revealed that in terms of security, the public order and traffic situation during the homecoming and return flows was monitored as conducive. Joint personnel were deployed at various congestion-prone points, accident risks, and crowded centres, such as rest areas, terminals, stations, airports, and ports. Regarding safety aspects, Agus said that various preventive efforts successfully curbed the potential for traffic accidents, such as disseminating driving safety messages, urging drivers to rest, vehicle roadworthiness checks, and speed monitoring on toll and arterial roads. Field officers were also said to be active in issuing warnings and education to drivers, particularly motorcyclists undertaking long-distance journeys. In addition, traffic violations were reportedly reduced through enforcement both electronically and manually. The regulation of unroadworthy vehicles, over-dimension and overloaded vehicles, as well as curbing illegal parking in rest areas and road shoulders, also contributed to creating traffic orderliness during the Eid homecoming period. Thus, Agus now extends thanks and appreciation to all stakeholders who have cooperated and coordinated well in securing and serving the 2026 Eid homecoming and return flows. “We convey our thanks and appreciation to all stakeholders, from the Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, Jasa Raharja, Jasa Marga, TNI, Polri, local governments, to toll road operators who have cooperated and coordinated well in supporting the security and service of the 2026 Eid homecoming and return flows,” said the Traffic Chief. He also expressed thanks to all the public who have complied with traffic rules, followed field officers’ instructions, and maintained order during the homecoming implementation. “The success of the Kamseltibcarlantas implementation in securing Eid 2026 is a manifestation of our collective commitment to providing the best service to the public, so that homecomers can reach their destinations safely and celebrate Eid al-Fitr with their families in safety, comfort, and joy,” said the Traffic Chief.
