The Head of the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, stated that the peak of the 2026 return flow is predicted to occur on 24 March. On that date, a national one-way system for the return flow is planned from kilometre 414 to kilometre 70 on the Trans-Java toll road.

“We will implement a national one-way system for the return flow, as per the directives from the Chief of Police. Yesterday, I reported to the Minister of Transportation, the Director of Jasa Marga, and Jasa Raharja, and the plan is to flag it off for the return flow on the 24th,” said Inspector General Agus at the NTMC Polri in Jakarta on Sunday (22/3/2026).

Inspector General Agus mentioned that several traffic engineering measures are expected to be carried out before 24 March. One of them is the implementation of a segmental one-way for the return flow.

“From the 22nd and 23rd, we are already taking strategic steps. Whether on the 23rd we will implement a local segmental one-way as the first phase, of course, we will formulate it immediately,” he explained.

The prediction of the peak return flow itself will occur in two waves: 23 to 24 March, and 28 to 29 March.

Inspector General Agus explained that Operasi Ketupat 2026 is still ongoing. Police personnel continue to be in the field to ensure security during the 2026 Eid conditions.

“If before the homecoming it was during fasting, now it’s no longer fasting, hopefully our personnel remain enthusiastic in the field and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure safe journeys both coming and going,” he stated.
