Traffic Chief: Increase in Vehicle Volume This Afternoon at KM 57-70 of Japek Toll Road
National Traffic Police Chief of the Indonesian National Police, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, stated that there was traffic congestion this afternoon. The traffic density occurred due to an increase in vehicle volume on Eid al-Fitr day itself.
“For the toll road earlier at 11:00 WIB, there was a slight surge in traffic flow, so in Cikampek from kilometre 57 to 70, we implemented one way,” said Inspector General Agus at the Command Centre KM 29 of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, North Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java, on Saturday (21/3/2026).
Inspector General Agus explained that although there was a temporary increase in vehicle volume, traffic conditions were deemed under control. He also reported no notable traffic incidents today.
“Harkamtibmas (maintenance of community security and order) is sufficiently under control, so there are no prominent incidents. Including the traffic security, safety, order, and smoothness aspect, we have also reported to Mr. National Police Chief (General Listyo Sigit Prabowo) from H-8 days during the operation (Ketupat),” he clarified.
Inspector General Agus stated that his side would focus on agglomeration movements or local homecoming after Eid. They have anticipated the movement of the public who will carry out this local homecoming.
“We also, of course, inform the strategy for the return flow, which we have prepared. So the percentage of traffic counting heading to West Java, heading to Trans Java, to Trans Java is approximately 66 percent. We will manage it during the return flow. To West Java, it’s 33 percent,” Agus explained.
