Traffic Chief Ensures Arterial Roads Under Control Despite One-Way on Toll
The implementation of the national one-way system on toll roads during the peak return flow has been enacted. National Police Traffic Corps Chief Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho assured that preparations have been made to anticipate the traffic engineering’s impact on arterial roads. “Earlier, the Head of Operations checked up to Banyumas, Gropok, to the North Coast, and everything is on standby to manage the impacts from the national one-way return direction. So everything is still under control, both on the toll roads and the arterial ones, which are being managed well,” explained Inspector General Agus during his inspection at the Banyumanik Toll Gate, Central Java, on Tuesday (24/3/2026). In addition, the police are also focusing on anticipating congestion in agglomeration areas and crowded tourist spots that are popular with the public. So far, there are still tourist spots that are crowded with visitors. “The agglomeration areas are still quite dense, and tourist spots are still destinations for our fellow citizens who are celebrating Eid in their hometowns,” he stated. Inspector General Agus described the 2026 Ketupat Operation as a humanitarian operation. He emphasised Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo’s tagline for this year’s mudik: ‘Safe Mudik, Happy Family’. “So we are present on the roads not just to manage traffic, but we understand that this mudik journey is a journey full of happiness that we hope for,” he said. Today, the national one-way system is officially implemented from Km 414 GT Kalikangkung to Km 70 GT Cikampek Utama. Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo led the flag-off ceremony for the process.
