A crane truck became stuck on a pedestrian bridge (JPO) on Jalan Kapten Tendean, Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta, causing severe traffic congestion. The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday at around 1 a.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB). A local resident, Hamawi, stated he had been at the location since 5 a.m. and the bridge was already damaged, preventing pedestrians from crossing. Of the two lanes in the area, traffic heading towards Pancoran was observed to be flowing smoothly, whilst the affected lane towards Blok M was heavily congested. The Mampang underpass was also gridlocked with cars and motorcycles. The orange crane truck remained lodged in the pedestrian bridge, which sustained severe damage and appeared nearly separated from its supports. A joint team of police, transportation agency officers, and public order officers (Satpol PP) were managing the traffic flow. The truck driver was reportedly heading to the Attorney General’s Office complex in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.
