Traffic at Kalikangkung Toll Gate Flows Busily but Smoothly Ahead of National One-Way System
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Traffic at the Kalikangkung Toll Gate (GT) in Semarang, Central Java, is observed to be busy but flowing smoothly ahead of the implementation of the national one-way traffic engineering system from KM 414 at GT Kalikangkung to KM 70 on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road. Based on ANTARA’s monitoring at GT Kalikangkung, Semarang, on Tuesday, traffic is busy but smooth, with no vehicle congestion yet occurring. Vehicles passing through are dominated by private cars. Meanwhile, vehicle sterilisation for the national one-way system was carried out at 11:00 WIB. The Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) announced that the local one-way system has been in effect from KM 424 on the Semarang-Solo toll to KM 414 at GT Kalikangkung since 10:25 WIB. Previously, the Head of Korlantas Polri, Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho, stated that the flag-off for the national one-way system would begin on Tuesday. “We will certainly implement the national one-way for the return flow, as per the instructions from the Chief of Police, and yesterday I reported to the Transport Minister and the Directors of Jasa Marga and Jasa Raharja; the plan is to flag off the return flow on the 24th,” he said. Based on gathered information, this national one-way system will start at 14:00 WIB. Several officials will attend the flag-off of the national one-way system, including National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Korlantas Polri Head Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi, and Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno.
