Traditional Sade Houses in NTB Destroyed by Fire

Traditional Sade houses in Rambitan Village, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, were destroyed by fire on Saturday (22/8) at around 10.00 pm local time. The fire is believed to have first broken out in one of the houses in the middle of the settlement before spreading to other buildings, most of which are made of wood, bamboo and thatch. Around 150 houses that were burnt down were inhabited by 700 residents who are related through a single line of descent. There were no casualties in the incident, while the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
