Traditional food at international hotel

JAKARTA: In celebration of Independence Day, the Cafe Gran Via
at the Gran Melia Hotel on Jl. Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, will
feature a traditional Indonesian buffet on Aug. 17.

The buffet will consist of appetizers, main courses and
desserts from various parts of the country, including Central
Java; Sunda (West Java); Padang, West Sumatra; and Manado, South
Sulawesi.

Among the dishes that will be offered are Soto Banjar, hot
chicken Rica-rica, spicy fish besengek. The desserts will include
the sweet biji salak and kue talam beras merah putih.

The Red and White Quartet will also entertain guests with
Indonesian songs.--JP
