Workers feed cattle at a sacrificial animal sales stall in the Jalan Gatot Subroto area, Jakarta, on Friday (8/5/2026). Three weeks before Idul Adha 2026, sacrificial animal stalls are beginning to appear in Jakarta, one of which is the stall owned by Said. The stall sells Bima cattle priced at Rp14-60 million depending on the animal’s weight. According to Said, the stall owner, in 15 days of trading, he has sold 44 out of a total of 70 cattle brought directly from Bima, West Nusa Tenggara Province (NTB). “The cheapest is Rp14 million for cattle weighing 210kg,” Said added to CNBC Indonesia. The cattle still at the sacrificial animal sales stall are mostly already ordered and just waiting to be delivered to buyers. Meanwhile, at the stall, cattle weighing 400kg and above are sold for Rp60 million. This year, sacrificial animal sales have increased by more than 90% compared to previous years.
