Traders say Santa Market revitalisation brings comfort to visitors

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Several traders have appreciated the revitalisation of Pasar Santa in South Jakarta, as it is seen to impact the increased comfort of visitors. “After the revitalisation, customers are happy and their enthusiasm is extraordinary. Previously, it was busy on Saturdays and Sundays, now it’s busy every day,” said Suradi, one of the coffee drink stall owners, when met at Pasar Santa in South Jakarta on Tuesday. Suradi mentioned that the completed revitalisation includes improvements to facilities such as the parking area, stairs, and toilets, but this has not affected an increase in stall rental costs. He assessed that the facility enhancements at the market align with his efforts to serve consumers from officials to foreign customers who often visit his stall. “That means cleanliness, neatness, and comfort greatly influence us. The parking area is now also tidied up every day,” he said. In line with that, Adit, one of the ubi food stall attendants, stated that the market revitalisation has also increased visitors’ trust, along with facility improvements that make the market cleaner, tidier, and more comfortable to visit. “Holidays are getting busier because many foreigners and people exercising come here,” said Adit. Thus, the traders hope that these facility updates continue to be improved to provide comfort and consumer trust. Perumda Pasar Jaya has affirmed its commitment to driving community economic growth for young people through infrastructure revitalisation and strengthening the ecosystem at Pasar Santa, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. Therefore, the improvements include a visual refresh, such as repainting the entire building exterior to give a clean and modern impression. In addition, enhancements to public facilities have been carried out through a total overhaul of the toilet area to make it more hygienic, as well as providing a more representative ATM Centre for transaction convenience. On the interior comfort side, ceramic replacements in the market corridors and the installation of air fans in the food court area have been done to ensure better air circulation for visitors. Meanwhile, in terms of supporting infrastructure, concreting (betonisation) of the parking area has been carried out to support smoother mobility, as well as the construction of a more organised and environmentally friendly Waste Disposal House (TPS). Not only that, aspects of aesthetics and open space have also been strengthened through the creation of a new garden in the Lobby 6 area (near the ATM Gallery) as a green space and comfortable waiting area.
