Trademark Registration PNBP Fee Rises to IDR 2.8 Million, Song Copyrights Now Free

The non-tax state revenue (PNBP) tariffs within the Ministry of Law have officially been updated, including those related to intellectual property services such as trademarks. This tariff revision is contained in Government Regulation Number 30 of 2026, which was enacted by President Prabowo Subianto and issued on 2 July 2026. The regulation states the changes are due to an organisational restructuring within the Ministry of Law and to adjust the types and rates of applicable PNBP, amending PP 45/2024. Under the appendix of PP 30/2026, several PNBP tariffs have been altered. For instance, the fee for a trademark registration application submitted by the general public is now IDR 2.8 million, up from the previous IDR 1.8 million stipulated in PP 45/2024. The trademark registration fee for Micro and Small Enterprises, Educational Institutions, and Government Research and Development Institutions remains at IDR 500,000 per class. Other PNBP tariffs have largely remained the same or even decreased. For example, the fee for copyright applications, specifically for the recording of works and related rights products, has changed. Previously, a single tariff of IDR 200,000 per application applied. Under PP 30/2026, a two-tier system is introduced: applications for recording songs or music are now free, while the fee for other works remains IDR 200,000. Similarly, the PNBP tariff for recording trade secret licence agreements remains at IDR 250,000 for the general public, and IDR 150,000 for MSMEs, educational institutions, and government research and development bodies. Patent application fees are also unchanged, costing IDR 350,000 for MSMEs, educational institutions, and government research and development bodies, and IDR 1.25 million for the general public.
