Trade relations between RI and Iraq

In the food and pharmaceutical sector, in an effort to help
the Iraqi public meet food and medicinal needs, several
pharmaceutical firms and food company executives have established
trade contacts with the Iraqi government, particularly in a
project tender which culminated in the Oil for Food program
approved by the United Nations.

In the pharmaceutical sector, Indofarma, as a company
coordinating no less than 16 pharmaceutical firms, held
exhibitions in July 1997. The results have been seen this year
with exports of pharmaceuticals from Indonesia under the Oil for
Food program with a tender worth US$2 million.
