Trade Ministry optimises Minyakita distribution to secure market stocks
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Trade is optimising the distribution of Minyakita to ensure that stock availability in people’s markets remains secure.
Deputy Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti said in Jakarta on Tuesday that the effort is being carried out through strengthened cross-sector coordination as well as regular price monitoring via the Market and Essential Goods Monitoring System (SP2KP), which also tracks the prices of other commodities.
“We have Trade Ministerial Regulation No. 43 of 2025, which requires that at least 35 percent of cooking oil distribution must go through BUMN Pangan so that monitoring is also easy,” she said.
Dyah noted that the realisation of Minyakita distribution through BUMN Pangan has already exceeded the minimum threshold set by the government, which is expected to strengthen oversight while ensuring distribution runs more optimally.
Meanwhile, according to her, the highest retail price (HET) for Minyakita is currently Rp15,700 per litre, although based on her side’s monitoring, it stands at around Rp16,000 per litre.
“It turns out the realisation has now reached 51 percent through BUMN Pangan. The hope is that distribution can be maximised so that people’s markets have secure stocks,” she said.
According to her, strengthening Minyakita distribution is also a preparatory step against potential inflationary pressure, particularly in disaster-affected areas experiencing constraints in the flow of goods.
“That is one of the things we are working on for disaster-affected regions where inflation could possibly rise because the flow of goods or distribution is hampered,” she said.
