Trade Expo Indonesia 2026 Transactions Targeted to Reach IDR 293.3 Trillion
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Trade Budi Santoso said that the 41st Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI), which will be held on 14-18 October 2026, is targeted to generate transactions of 17.5 billion US dollars or approximately IDR 293.30 trillion (exchange rate of IDR 16,759).
At the launch of TEI 2026 in Jakarta, Thursday, Budi said this target was higher than last year which was set at 16.5 billion US dollars, with the realization actually exceeding expectations to reach 22.8 billion US dollars or approximately IDR 382.65 trillion.
“We hope that with a target of 17.5 billion US dollars, it will be achieved even higher. This is a good opportunity for us because our market is getting better, more and more trade agreements have started to open up,” said Budi.
He is optimistic that this year’s target can be achieved, supported by the positive trend of Indonesian exports which grew 6.15 percent in 2025, even though international trade conditions are still full of challenges.
Budi explained that the implementation of TEI is carried out through three stages that complement each other. Since the initial registration stage, exhibitors are immediately facilitated through business matching with prospective buyers from abroad.
According to him, this process involves trade attachés and Indonesian representatives in 33 countries, so that transaction opportunities can be prepared more carefully before the exhibition takes place.
He added that the second stage takes place on the day of the event, namely 14-18 October, where transactions are expected to occur directly between exhibitors and international buyers who attend.
Meanwhile, the third stage is carried out after the exhibition. Budi said that the government together with trade representatives will monitor the transactions that have taken place, ensuring that there are no technical obstacles that can disrupt the smooth flow of trade.
According to Budi, this step is important so that the results obtained from TEI are truly sustainable and have a real impact on national exports.
