Track and field meet for students

JAKARTA (JP): The Sports Department of the Jakarta Office of
the Ministry of Education and Culture will hold track and field
championships for elementary, junior high and high school
students, as well as college students, from Jan. 27 through Jan.
29.

The championships will be staged at the Gelora Rawamangun
stadium in East Jakarta, Armyn Hadi, an official of the office,
said over the weekend.

The sports meet is primarily aimed at scouting out talented
athletes among students and popularizing track and field sports
at schools.

Registration is open at Jl. Jatinegara Timur 55 for
elementary, junior high and high school students. For college
students the registration place is the IKIP campus on Jl.
Rawamangun. (bas)
