The Gunungkidul Regency Tourism, Creative Economy, Youth, and Sports Office (Disparekrafpora) has stated that three TPR officers were rotated following negligence in serving tourists. All three are part-time Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK).

The Head of the Destination Development Division of Disparekrafpora Gunungkidul, Nanang Putranto, said the officers were stationed at the Tourist Levy Collection Point (TPR) on the Baron South Cross Road (JJLS). They are no longer assigned to that TPR.

“From the JJLS TPR where the incident occurred yesterday, we rotated three TPR officers,” he said when contacted by detikJogja on Sunday (12/4/2026).

In detail, Nanang continued, one officer was transferred to the Disparekrafpora Gunungkidul office. That one is the officer who was negligent in serving tourists when paying the levy at the JJLS Baron TPR.

“One person we moved to the office for guidance, while the other two we rotated to other TPRs,” he said.

Regarding their employment status, Nanang stated that all three are under Disparekrafpora Gunungkidul.

“All three are part-time PPPK,” he said.

Additionally, Nanang said he has emphasised to TPR officers to provide maximum service to tourists, especially during levy payments. This is to ensure such incidents do not recur.

“We continue to emphasise and remind our officers to provide maximum service to tourists, particularly in checking tickets given to tourists,” he said.

Previously reported, a social media post narrating four tourists who paid a Rp60,000 levy fee but whose receipt only recorded Rp30,000 at a southern Gunungkidul beach TPR went viral. The Gunungkidul Regency Government (Pemkab) called it an officer error and stated sanctions have been imposed.

“Permission to report, admin, regarding Gunungkidul beach entry tickets, yesterday payment for 8 people/120,000 but the ticket only shows 4 people/60,000. Today payment for 4 people/60,000 but the ticket only shows 2 people/30,000, and the reason is always programme error… for example, others like this. Where does the rest go?” said the Instagram account @info_gunungkidul as seen by detikJogja today.

Gunungkidul Regent Endah Subekti Kuntariningsih said she was aware of the incident. According to her, today Disparekrafpora Gunungkidul has summoned the TPR officers for clarification.

“Today the TPR officers were called to review, including the CCTV, whether those four people indeed paid for four or according to the printout two because the other two were children,” she said to reporters in Wonosari, Gunungkidul, on Friday (10/4).

Endah also asked Disparekrafpora Gunungkidul to disclose the clarification results regarding the incident.

“The results will be released by the Tourism Office. Clearly, today the TPR officers were summoned for clarification,” she said.

Additionally, Endah assured that if the officers are proven guilty, they will face sanctions.

“Of course (if the officers are at fault), we will impose sanctions according to applicable rules,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Disparekrafpora Gunungkidul, Hary Sukmono, stated that the incident occurred at the TPR in the Baron Beach area, Tanjungsari, Gunungkidul. For the TPR officers, Hary said he has imposed firm sanctions. Moreover, the individuals also received guidance from Disparekrafpora Gunungkidul.

“The stance on TPR officer violations who were negligent in carrying out duties will be given mutation sanctions and guidance at the Tourism, Creative Economy, Youth, and Sports Office,” he said.
