TP PKK Expert Yane Ardian Appreciates Regional Commitment to Addressing Zero Dose during Visit to South Lampung
South Lampung, VIVA – Yane Ardian Bima Arya, Expert Staff for Strengthening Family Food Security from the Central Family Empowerment and Welfare Movement Team (TP PKK), appreciated the commitment of the South Lampung Regency Government (Pemkab) in addressing zero dose children, or those who have never received complete basic immunisation.
According to her, child health is a crucial foundation for the nation’s future. Therefore, immunisation is one of the most effective health interventions to protect children from various diseases.
“The government places great emphasis on this matter by targeting the acceleration of reducing the number of zero dose children so that no child is left behind from their basic health rights,” she said during the Monitoring and Evaluation of Zero Dose Immunisation Implementation at the South Lampung Regent’s Office on Tuesday (12/5/2026).
Yane revealed that based on data as of 11 May 2026, the zero dose immunisation achievement in South Lampung Regency had reached 4,384 children out of a target of 4,967, or about 88.2 percent. However, based on the latest data update, the achievement has increased to 92 percent.
“Thank you for the cooperation, hard work, and swift action; in one and a half months or five weeks, South Lampung has achieved 92 percent. So, I hope this continues,” she added.
According to her, the zero dose programme in South Lampung is expected to drive improvements in the Human Development Index (HDI) and the consistent quality of basic public services. Therefore, South Lampung is encouraged to become an example of zero dose handling implementation in Indonesia.
In addition, local governments (Pemda) are expected to ensure that education on the importance of immunisation truly reaches families in need. Yane requested that Pemda also identify various obstacles causing some families to still delay immunisation for their children. The results of this monitoring will later serve as input for the Ministry of Health and related stakeholders.
“I believe that if all elements move together with the local government, health workers, PKK cadres, religious leaders, community figures, and all existing elements, then this achievement will soon improve. We must ensure that no child is left behind. Because one protected child means one child’s future is saved,” she emphasised.
