This initiative is aimed at realising a healthy Indonesian generation. According to Tri, parents have a duty to ensure their children receive immunisation.

Tri, who also serves as Chair of the Guiding Team for Integrated Service Posts (TP Posyandu), emphasised that the government is monitoring zero-dose immunisation, referring to children who have not received any immunisation at all.

Nevertheless, immunisation is a child’s right that must be fulfilled by the government together with parents. Tri assessed that the high immunisation coverage in South Sulawesi is inseparable from the active role of regional leaders, which encourages involvement from all levels.

“This is the best example I have ever encountered. Before this, we were heading towards the targets set by the Ministry of Health (MoH) in seven provinces, and I admit that South Sulawesi Province is the best,” said Tri in a written statement on Wednesday (6/4/2026).

She conveyed this at the Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) event for Zero-Dose Immunisation in South Sulawesi Province at the Gowa Regent’s Official Residence, on Tuesday (5/5).

Tri explained that although immunisation is often seen as a routine for families with children, in reality, there are still families that have not carried it out.

Therefore, government intervention through collaboration between community health centres (Puskesmas), posyandu, and TP PKK is very important to continuously increase immunisation coverage.

Tri also appreciated the data collection approach by the Gowa Regency Government (Pemkab).

“I am very happy because the Regent (of Gowa) stated that this activity targets by name, by address. So not just numbers, but per name, per address, which is known by the local government apparatus,” said Tri.

Furthermore, Tri emphasised that immunisation is the initial step in shaping a healthy future generation.

Immunisation plays an important role in protecting children, especially toddlers, from various disease risks in the future and is part of effective prevention efforts.

Tri also highlighted the importance of parenting patterns in the family. According to Tri, the existence of children who have not been immunised is not separate from improper parenting patterns.

“Why don’t parents carry out immunisation? There must be a wrong parenting pattern,” Tri revealed.

“Well, this parenting pattern does not only cover health, but also many other things,” she continued.

At the end of her speech, Tri hoped that through strengthened monitoring together with Puskesmas and support from government apparatus down to the sub-district and village levels, all children can receive complete immunisation.

Tri also appreciated the good practices in South Sulawesi that can serve as examples for other regions.

“I congratulate the PKK Provincial Driving Team of South Sulawesi, in collaboration with Gowa Regency, which has carried out this activity by achieving more than 80% of the target set by the MoH. And this is extraordinary in supporting our promotion, PKK can help the movement to achieve national targets,” said Tri.

For information, the event was also attended by the Governor of South Sulawesi Andi Sudirman Sulaiman, Chair of TP PKK Province South Sulawesi Naoemi Octarina Sudirman, Gowa Regent Sitti Husniah Talenrang, as well as members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) of South Sulawesi Province and Gowa Regency.
