Toyota Veloz Hybrid sales hold steady in DIY and Central Java
Yogyakarta (ANTARA) - Sales of Toyota electrified vehicles in Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) have risen significantly throughout 2026, driven by the Veloz Hybrid, which has maintained steady sales of 200-250 units per month.
Nasmoco Vice President Director Jodjana Jody said that sales of Toyota electrified vehicles up to August 2026 contributed around 26 per cent of total Toyota vehicle sales, an increase of 12 percentage points compared with the same period last year.
“So we hope our hybrid sales, for the Veloz Hybrid, are now fairly stable at 200-250 units per month,” Jodjana Jody told journalists covering a media drive event in Yogyakarta on Monday evening (14/9).
He further explained that Toyota’s electrified vehicle sales include hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles (BEVs). However, the largest contribution to sales in Nasmoco’s operational area still comes from hybrid vehicles, as BEV sales remain relatively limited.
Between January and August 2025, Nasmoco’s electrified vehicle sales stood at only 995 units.
At that time, Toyota had not yet marketed the Veloz Hybrid, so the contribution of electrified vehicles to total sales was still 12 per cent.
The situation began to change after the Veloz Hybrid was marketed more widely in April 2026. The vehicle became the electrified model with the largest contribution at Nasmoco, while also boosting the share of electrified vehicle sales to 26 per cent by August.
Jodjana said the achievement showed that consumer acceptance of hybrid vehicles was beginning to take shape.
Before the Veloz Hybrid was launched, sales of the model stood at nearly 100 units per month. With the arrival of the hybrid variant, sales have increased almost two and a half times.
In addition to the Veloz Hybrid, the Toyota Innova Zenix Hybrid has also made a significant contribution to Toyota’s hybrid vehicle sales in Nasmoco’s region, with the Yaris Cross Hybrid also adding to sales.
The rise in the electrification contribution to 26 per cent reflects a shift in the vehicle market composition in Central Java and DIY.
Hybrid vehicles have become one of consumers’ preferred choices, driving Toyota’s sales growth amid the development of the national electrified vehicle market.
Nasmoco hopes that Veloz Hybrid sales will continue to rise, after the model succeeded in maintaining monthly sales volumes of 200-250 units.
This achievement serves as a foundation for the company to strengthen sales of electrified vehicles across Central Java and DIY.
