PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) is utilising the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Commercial Vehicle Expo (GIICOMVEC) 2026 to showcase a range of developments for commercial vehicles based on the Hilux Rangga. The exhibition, taking place from 8–11 April 2026 at JIExpo Kemayoran, provides Toyota with a platform to demonstrate the flexibility of commercial vehicles in supporting various business sectors. Embracing the spirit of “Multi Solution for All”, Toyota is presenting several Hilux Rangga conversions designed to meet business-to-business (B2B) needs. This model has been developed as a light commercial vehicle that can be adapted to various operational requirements, from logistics to public services. TAM’s Marketing Director, Bansar Maduma, stated that the presence of the Hilux Rangga reflects Toyota’s commitment to delivering relevant mobility solutions for business actors in Indonesia. “The Hilux Rangga is not just a commercial vehicle, but a business solution that can be customised for a variety of needs, from UMKM logistics, agriculture, public services, to mining,” he said. The Hilux Rangga is designed with commercial vehicle characteristics that prioritise flexibility. With a payload capacity of up to 1.2 tonnes and a flat deck with three-way openings, this vehicle is intended to facilitate goods distribution activities across various sectors. In addition, Toyota also offers petrol and diesel engine options to provide a balance between performance and fuel efficiency. The bonnet design on this vehicle is also claimed to enhance comfort and safety in daily use. In its development, Toyota has partnered with more than 80 local body manufacturers to present various conversion models. This approach allows the vehicles to be tailored to specific user needs, whether for individual use or company fleets. Several conversion models on display include the Hilux Rangga Cool Box for frozen product distribution, the Hilux Rangga Flatdeck (Maintenance Car) for technical operations, and the Hilux Rangga ACC Mobile Service, which functions as a mobile service unit. Additionally, there is the Hilux Rangga Firefighter variant for firefighting needs and the Hilux Rangga MBG, which supports the distribution of the government’s free nutritious food programme. Toyota is also introducing the Hiace Premio as a premium minibus aimed at enhancing the quality of tourism services in Indonesia through a Premium Mobility Experience. This model complements Toyota’s lineup of commercial vehicles, which not only focus on goods distribution but also passenger mobility. TAM’s Marketing Director, Hiroyuki Oide, emphasised the importance of ecosystem support in commercial vehicle operations. “Supported by guarantees of durability and reliability, as well as a comprehensive service ecosystem, we aim to provide solutions that allow customers to run their businesses more worry-free,” he said. In addition to products, Toyota is highlighting after-sales service support through a network of workshops, availability of spare parts, and access to financing. This step is intended to ensure the smooth operation of vehicles in the long term. Through its participation in GIICOMVEC 2026, Toyota is demonstrating the direction of commercial vehicle development that is increasingly adaptive to industry needs, while strengthening the role of the automotive sector in supporting national economic activities.
