PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) has adopted a distinct approach at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 by combining the GAZOO Racing (GR) performance line and the Land Cruiser family within a single exhibition area. Through these two lines, Toyota intends to demonstrate that its product development is oriented not only towards mobility functions but also towards driving experiences tailored to customer character and needs.

Hiroyuki Oide, Marketing Director of PT Toyota-Alag Motor, stated that because every customer possesses different lifestyles and preferences, Toyota is providing a diverse range of vehicle options. “GAZOO Racing is built upon four pillars: motorsport, product, community, and communication, ensuring that excitement is not limited to the racetrack but can be enjoyed by more people through the GR Drive for Every Lifestyle spirit,” said Hiroyuki.

For Toyota, racing events serve as a testing ground for developing mass-production vehicle technology. The philosophy of ‘Push. Break. Learn. To Make Ever-Better Cars’ is applied through various motorsport competitions, which subsequently form the basis for product refinement. Throughout the 2026 national racing season, Toyota GAZOO Racing Indonesia (TGRI) recorded positive results, winning two opening rounds of the National Rally Championship, achieving top podiums in the National Sprint Rally, dominating the National Slalom Championship, and consistently reaching the podium in the Indonesia Touring Car Race (ITCR) 1200.

At GIIAS 2026, Toyota presented the full GAZOO Racing lineup, consisting of GR Pure, GR Sport, and GR Parts. Toyota also displayed Toyota GAZOO Racing Indonesia racing cars used in various national and international championships, alongside various performance and styling accessories and official merchandise. This dedicated area complements the development of the GAZOO Racing ecosystem, which was previously realised through the Toyota GR Car Meet, an event involving over 400 Toyota cars, 21 communities, and 21 collaborative partners.

Toyota noted that consumer interest in GAZOO Racing variants continues to rise. The contribution of GR variants to the Toyota models that offer them consistently remains above 60 per cent. Notably, for the Toyota Fortuner, approximately 95 per cent of buyers choose the GR variant, indicating that GAZOO Racing is increasingly accepted as a lifestyle choice rather than being solely identified with the world of racing.
