Toyota Commits to Implementing Environmental Standards Across All Its Facilities
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Toyota Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) is committed to continuously implementing environmental standards across all its facilities following the receipt of awards from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry in the Company Performance Rating Programme (PROPER) Gold and Green categories, as well as the Green Leadership 2026 award. According to a company press release on Tuesday, TMMIN Karawang Plant 1 and 2 received the PROPER Gold award, TMMIN Karawang 3 and the company’s facilities in Sunter received the PROPER Green award, and TMMIN President Director Nandi Julyanto received the Main CEO Green Leadership award. “This award is an encouragement for us to continuously implement environmental standards across all our company facilities, so that we can contribute to the national targets related to the environment and climate change,” said Nandi. This year, TMMIN submitted the Green Conservation Programme Save My Environment or KIJANGKU, which encompasses natural conservation efforts, energy efficiency, and community empowerment in PROPER. In addition, the company is implementing the KIJANGKU Programme in Pusakajaya Utara Village, Cilebar Subdistrict, Karawang Regency, to restore coastal areas through mangrove rehabilitation, the use of used tyres to create Wave Breaker Devices (APO), and community economic empowerment. According to the company, the programme has formed 14.96 hectares of mangrove conservation area and protected 4.3 hectares of fish ponds, 27 hectares of rice fields, and 76 coastal families. Through the integration of eco-innovation in manufacturing and nature-based social innovation that is aligned, the company seeks to connect low-carbon industrial transformation with environmental recovery and community welfare.
