JAKARTA – Toyota has received an extraordinary response from the Chinese market for its latest electric sedan, the bZ7. The vehicle garnered 3,100 orders within just one hour after its official launch for sale.

This high level of enthusiasm is closely tied to the pricing strategy offered. The bZ7 is marketed starting from 147,800 yuan, or approximately Rp 370 million, up to 199,800 yuan, around Rp 500 million.

Despite its dimensions classifying it as a large vehicle, with a length of 5,130 mm and a wheelbase of 3,020 mm, it is even longer than the Tesla Model S.

Interestingly, the bZ7’s price is lower than that of the Tesla Model 3, which is priced in the Chinese market starting from 236,500 yuan, or about Rp 590 million.

Toyota claims that under certain conditions, the vehicle can travel up to 710 km based on the CLTC standard. Additionally, fast charging is said to add up to 300 km of range in just 10 minutes.

Inside, the bZ7 features a modern cabin concept with various technological amenities. One of them is a 15.6-inch touchscreen that serves as the main control centre.

The infotainment system uses Huawei’s HarmonyOS. Furthermore, the system is integrated with Xiaomi’s smart home devices.

Not only that, comfort features such as front seats with heating, ventilation, and massage functions are available to enhance the driving experience.

On the safety side, the bZ7 is equipped with comprehensive driver assistance technology. This includes a lidar sensor on the roof, millimetre-wave radar, high-resolution cameras, and ultrasonic radar.

With its large dimensions, abundant features, and competitive pricing, the bZ7 has become one of the most attention-grabbing electric vehicles in the current Chinese market.
