Toyota Alphard XE Popular Among Budget-Conscious Consumers

The introduction of the new Toyota Alphard XE variant has received a positive response from the Indonesian market. Toyota noted that this model is highly sought after by new consumers who previously desired an Alphard but were constrained by its price.

PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) launched the Alphard XE at the Indonesia International Motor Show 202<0xC2>6, with prices starting from Rp 1.288 billion. This variant serves as the most affordable version in the Alphard lineup, offering both petrol and Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) engine options. Its selling price is approximately Rp 349 million lower than the higher-tier variants.

“The reception has been good, especially with such an affordable price. Given the specifications and the fact that it remains an Alphard, we have received a lot of appreciation from our customers,” said Oide when met in Central Jakarta on Saturday (16/5/2026).

According to Oide, the Alphard XE has successfully reached consumers who were previously unable to purchase an Alphard due to budget constraints. The consumer profile for the Alphard XE differs slightly from other Alphard variants. “If a customer has a limited budget, this new grade can meet their needs. Therefore, the profile is slightly different; perhaps they may not be at the top of their company, but are middle-tier,” he added.

Marketing Director of PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM), Bansar Maduma, added that although the Alphard XE is more affordable, consumers still receive the signature comfort and luxury of Toyota’s premium MPV. “With our new Alphard, we do not sacrifice essential features. The features remain superior, similar to the more expensive Alphard models, though we have adjusted certain specifications to suit the customers,” he continued.

Despite some adjusted features compared to the higher variants, Toyota emphasised that the comfort, luxury, and safety aspects of the Alphard are maintained in the XE variant.
