Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) successfully recorded 2,793 Vehicle Purchase Orders (SPK) during the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2026, with 42.6 per cent contributed by hybrid vehicle sales.

“Amid a market that tends to be stagnant, consumers continue to choose Toyota as a trusted mobility solution. This is evident from the overwhelmingly positive response to Toyota’s latest electrification solutions, which have been prepared for a wider audience,” said Vice President Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM), Henry Tanoto, in an official statement on Monday.

The “Hybrid EV for Everyone” programme proved successful in attracting consumers to switch to more environmentally friendly vehicles. This was demonstrated by sales of the New Veloz Hybrid EV, which garnered 381 orders, and the New Kijang Innova Zenix Hybrid EV, which secured 615 orders.

Consumer confidence in Toyota’s hybrid vehicles continued with their latest model, the New Veloz Hybrid EV, achieving 381 orders.

Beyond these two models, other flagship MPV line-ups such as the Kijang Innova achieved 309 orders, the Avanza 306 orders, and the Calya 259 orders, all featuring among Toyota’s top five best-selling models at IIMS 2026.

At the event, PT TAM did not only earn consumer trust. Toyota Indonesia also received two prestigious accolades from IIMS 2026, with the New Veloz Hybrid EV named Best Low MPV and the New GR Corolla awarded Best Hatchback.

These achievements serve as motivation for Toyota to continue delivering relevant mobility solutions across every segment, along with innovations that meet the needs of Indonesia’s vast consumer base.

“Through the New Veloz Hybrid EV, we want to ensure that environmentally friendly mobility can be accessed by more people, in more places, in line with the Hybrid EV For Everyone and Everywhere initiative,” explained Marketing Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM), Jap Ernando Demily.
