Toward bourgeois hegemony
Toward bourgeois hegemony
From Media Indonesia
The political discourses in the country today make a clear-cut
distinction between the public sector represented by the state
and the private sector embodying market forces.
In a capitalist country where the market mechanism functions
properly, it is apparent that its socio-economic mechanism is
controlled by initiatives of the private sector as the most
dominant power.
Meanwhile, the state as the public sector is only limited to
formulating policies for the creation of a situation conducive to
the growth of the private sector.
In the long run, this situation will strengthen the bourgeois
hegemony over the construction of the economic system. The
hegemony is so strong that the country may one day lose its power
of control.
