JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad Regional Division (JMT) recorded an increase in vehicle volume on several toll road sections in the Greater Jakarta area and West Java during the Ascension of Jesus Christ long holiday on Thursday (14/05/2026).

Meanwhile, the vehicle volume heading towards Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and Merak Port was recorded as lower compared to normal traffic conditions.

JMT recorded that the vehicle volume heading towards the Puncak area via the Ciawi 1 Toll Gate reached 43,228 vehicles.

This number increased by 28.38 percent compared to the normal traffic volume of 33,672 vehicles.

Senior General Manager of Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad Regional Division, Widiyatmiko Nursejati, said that the increase in traffic was concentrated towards tourist areas and popular destinations during the long holiday.

On the other hand, the vehicle volume heading towards Soekarno-Hatta Airport via the Cengkareng Toll Gate was recorded at 61,934 vehicles, or a decrease of 22.25 percent compared to normal traffic of 79,661 vehicles.

The number of vehicles heading towards Merak via the Cikupa Toll Gate was recorded at 39,826 vehicles, or 19.16 percent lower than the normal traffic of 49,264 vehicles.

In the West Java region, an increase in vehicle volume also occurred towards Rancaekek, Garut, and its surroundings via the Cileunyi Toll Gate.

The number of vehicles passing through was recorded at 34,461 vehicles, an increase of 4.36 percent compared to normal traffic of 33,020 vehicles.

To support the convenience of road users during the long holiday, Jasa Marga has prepared Rest and Service Areas (TIP) on several toll road sections.

Road users heading to Bandung or Rancaekek can use the TIP at KM 72, KM 88, and KM 147. Meanwhile, on the Jagorawi Toll Road towards Puncak, TIPs are available at KM 10, KM 35, and KM 45.

Jasa Marga also advises the public to ensure that the vehicle and driver are in good condition, and to pay attention to sufficient fuel and electronic card balance before travelling.
