A tourist vehicle, commonly known as an odong-odong, carrying 20 passengers overturned in Mekarsari, Rumpin subdistrict, Bogor regency. Three people were reported injured.

“A single-vehicle traffic accident involving an odong-odong carrying approximately 20 passengers occurred on the Tarogong-Mekarsari road, Rumpin subdistrict,” said Acting Head of the Traffic Law Enforcement Unit at Bogor Police, Inspector Ares Rahman, to reporters on Tuesday (17/2/2026).

The accident occurred when the vehicle carrying 20 passengers was travelling from Rumpin towards Parung Panjang on Monday (16/2) afternoon. At the location, the vehicle with registration plate B-9764-NUF was unable to climb the incline and rolled backwards before eventually overturning.

“Upon arriving at the scene, whilst traversing a road that curves to the left and ascends, the vehicle was unable to climb the hill, causing it to move backwards to the right,” said Ares.

“The vehicle then left the road and entered a plantation on the left side of the road, coming to rest tilted to the right, with the front and rear left wheels in the air,” he added.

Ares said the vehicle and victims had already been evacuated by local residents by the time officers arrived at the scene. Based on the results of the crime scene investigation, it was established that three people had sustained minor injuries.

“When members of the Parung Law Enforcement Unit arrived at the location, the vehicle and victims were no longer present, having been evacuated according to witness statements. According to information gathered, three people suffered minor injuries,” said Ares.
