Tourist guide died of assault
JAKARTA: A tourist guide was found dead late on Thursday at
his home in Puri Indah housing complex in Kembangan Selatan, West
Jakarta.
The police found marks on the body indicating that Robertus
Lukito, 56 had been attacked.
Housemaid Sri Rahayu, 17, said that her employer's friend Kie
San came to visit at about 6 p.m., accompanied by two men. Kie
San left an hour later, but the two others stayed.
Sri said she later heard Robertus screaming for help, but she
was too scared to come out of her room. After the noises died
down at about 10:30 p.m., Sri went out and found Robertus lying
on the floor of the living room, while the two men had gone.
Kembangan Police found several wounds inflicted by a blunt
object on the victim's forehead and other parts of the head and a
tire pump beside his body which they suspected to be the murder
weapon.
His body was sent to Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital for
an autopsy, while the police are investigating the case. -- JP
