JAKARTA (JP): A customer service training program was launched yesterday to improve the quality of human resources in the front lines of Indonesia's tourism businesses.
The program, called Pesona Indonesia, was launched by Director General of Tourism Andi Mappi Sammeng.
Andi yesterday presented certificates to 28 "master trainers" who will train employees of tourism businesses in 15 of the country's provinces.
The training program was first introduced in Canada under the name SuperHost and later developed in Britain, Australia and New Zealand.
Its copyright for Indonesia was later bought by American Express' Travel Related Service, which developed the program together with the Indonesian Tourism Promotion Board and the Ministry of Tourism, Post and Telecommunications. (pwn)
