Tourism Minister Inspects Prambanan Temple and Yogyakarta Tugu Station Ahead of School Holidays

Leading up to school holidays, Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana inspected public service facilities at Prambanan Temple and Yogyakarta Tugu Station.

“I have personally assessed conditions at both sites. Safety and comfort are the top priorities for all tourism stakeholders, from transportation, tourist destinations, hotels, restaurants, to other supporting services, to ensure the public has an optimal travel experience,” the minister said in an official statement on Monday, 1 June 2026.

According to official reports, the Prambanan Temple area is calm and crowded with tourists.

This is seen as a positive sign for tourist movement ahead of the school holiday season, including visits to the Prambanan Temple Museum and Brahma Square, which will host parts of the 2026 Wonderful Indonesia Gourmet (WIG) event.

Meanwhile, Yogyakarta Tugu Station is reported to be busy with tourists and railway users.

The minister also checked various public facilities, including free drinking water refill stations, baggage storage, lost and found services, children’s play areas, health clinics, and lactation rooms.

“We appreciate the preparedness of PT Taman Wisata Candi (TWC) and PT KAI Daop 6 for continuously innovating to provide safe, comfortable, and quality services for the public,” Widiyanti said.

The campaign offers various travel options tailored to modern family needs, from short escapes and educational trips for children, intercity road travel, village tourism exploration, to local cultural and culinary experiences.

To facilitate trip planning, the Ministry of Tourism has launched MaIA, an AI-powered digital platform on Indonesia.travel.
