Tourism Minister Inspects Blok M District Ahead of Eid Holiday
Ahead of the Eid holiday, Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana visited the Blok M district in South Jakarta. The minister began her visit at Taman Bendera Pusaka, which was recently launched by the Governor, and proceeded to M Bloc Space where she broke her fast at a café. She subsequently toured several shops and local businesses, including Si Juki comic bookstore and IP Indonesia, as well as local artisan outlets selling eyewear, jewellery, and souvenirs.
During the visit, the minister encouraged Jakarta residents not travelling to their hometowns to explore South Jakarta’s numerous attractions and activities. She emphasised that the Eid holiday period presented an excellent opportunity for domestic tourism within Jakarta and Indonesia.
The ministry has organised 118 events across various regions nationwide to celebrate the Eid holiday period. The minister expressed hope that these events would enhance the public’s enjoyment of their holiday break and noted that given the uncertain geopolitical situation globally, holidaying domestically offers a sensible alternative.
The Tourism Ministry has undertaken extensive preparations in coordination with local governments and tourism destination operators to ensure visitor safety, cleanliness, and comfort throughout the holiday period. The minister stated that coordinated efforts with regional authorities and destination managers are underway to maintain standards across all tourism sites.
