Tourism Minister Emphasises Synchronisation of Lake Toba Development Master Plan
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana has ensured the synchronisation of the master plan in the Lake Toba Super Priority Destination (DSP) so that the development of the area proceeds in an integrated manner from upstream to downstream. This also serves as the government’s commitment to accelerating the development of Attractions, Accessibility, and Amenities (3A). “Lake Toba is about how we build a quality, sustainable destination that delivers real impact for the community. From here, I see optimism that through collaborative efforts, we can present authentic and impactful Indonesian tourism,” said Minister Widiyanti in an official statement received in Jakarta on Saturday. During a working visit to Toba Regency, North Sumatra, on Friday (17/4), Minister Widiyanti began the agenda with a meeting at Pantai Bebas Parapat, welcomed by the Regent of Simalungun, Anton Achmad Saragih, which also discussed strategic plans for developing supporting facilities to enhance the quality of tourists’ experiences. The agenda continued with Minister Widiyanti leading a coordination meeting with the Lake Toba Authority Executive Body (BPODT). The meeting focused on evaluating and synchronising cross-sectoral work programmes to ensure all developments in the Lake Toba area proceed under a unified grand vision. Subsequently, Minister Widiyanti inspected the panorama of Lake Toba from Bukit Singgolom. On that occasion, she discussed with the Regent of Lake Toba, Effendi Sintong Panangian Napitupulu, regarding the acceleration of infrastructure development. According to Minister Widiyanti, Lake Toba is not only a flagship tourism destination but also a symbol of Indonesia’s tourism transformation that prioritises environmental preservation and community welfare. Furthermore, she emphasised that the development of Lake Toba must be oriented towards quality and sustainability, and capable of delivering tangible economic impacts for local communities.
